To be the person you want to be…
I will not give up just because I “can’t” or “don’t know how.” I will continue to challenge myself. Through yoga, I have learned to confront my emotions and adapt to change. I believe that “being true to oneself” is what makes people shine and is the source of cherishing those who are important to us. I am living a life that I could never have imagined in high school, but by continuing to move forward, opportunities come my way, and the scenery I see and the things I feel change. Everyone is “amazing,” and I value the criteria of “do I like it, does it excite me, does it make my heart race?” when looking at people. Going forward, I want to continue sharing time filled with smiles and love, without fearing change.
I am from Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. During high school, I had neither dreams nor good grades, and I was unable to engage in job hunting.
After obtaining my childcare worker and kindergarten teacher licenses at a vocational school, I worked as a childcare worker at a children’s welfare facility and a bilingual school.
To support children’s dreams, I decided to be honest with myself and began pursuing a new dream.
Despite disliking English, I taught myself and now English has changed my life, allowing me to make friends around the world. Working part-time at Starbucks helped me improve my English and boost my self-confidence. Seeking a more challenging life, I spent a year in Victoria, Canada, engaging in cultural exchange and self-discovery.
I moved to Okinawa to follow a former student’s family. I started working as a babysitter and at sea, and was captivated by Okinawa’s ocean, feeling that “adults should play too.”
I started with front desk duties and debuted as a tour guide for kayaking, snorkeling, and SUP. Through practice, I learned the joy and rigor of nature.
Despite being unathletic, I overcame challenges with a competitive spirit and refusal to give up, supported by many people, and launched “Narooma SUP.”
